Herwig. by ~stlind An interesting shot that conveys how a sport can bridge the natural and the urban. A skateboard in the forest; a reminder of where its material came from. ( Featured by 1pen )

I usually don't really care for skateboard photo's, but this one is really great! :)
I love the surroundings and all the green. It's a really nice shot. I hope nobody got hurt though, it seems a bit dangerous.

Well that is rather dareing.  hope you guys know what you are doing and what could happen.  alot of people that skateboard don't seem to evaluate the danger.  And the woods are beautiful too.  you capture both the stunt devil and the forest with that angle perfectly.

The only way I can see you to level this up is to go to Colorado up in the mountains where there are shear cliffs.  "In the icy winter."  The camera man would have to be in a harness and a rope to repel a bit down the cliff side and probably do a jump to get the angel that matches this.  However if this stunt was to fail, chances of survival would be 0%.  Take an insaine person to want to do that.

haha i guess that wont happen, but if i ever get some financial background i will throw in the idea of a parachute-backpack and some cliffs.

thank you for taking the time to write something up, i really appreciate that.

your welcome :D

Well I am not sure how well the parachute would work.  First you need enough fall distance.  Enough speed for the chute to deploy, and enough distance to get that speed and slow down enough to make a landing.  Not sure if some of those cliffs are high enough for all that.  Maybe, but I don't know.  Also if you suddenly fall from the skate board, chances are that you would be spinning and you can't pull the chute when you are spinning, otherwise it would get tangled up and not work.

Oh and there are truckers that drive on that narrow road too.  hardly enough room for them, not alone shearing the lane with others.  I suppose those truckers are real crazy, since those roads don't even have a guard rail, not enough room for them.  Wait a moment...  if there is no guard rail, what you going to grind on? ^^;  oh well it was I nice thought anyway.

Awesome, but I don't know what was more dangerous, the person skateboarding or the photographer having climbed down that hill!

i was leaning at a tree, and 2 people were standing further down to catch anyone/anything from falling too far. it got a lot less steep just 2m behind me though.

Still pretty brave! I'm not afraid of heights, but very much afraid of ledges and steep hills, I would have tied myself to that tree

yes, he is. but hey, climbing down that hill with your camera and risking getting hit in the face with a board was pretty stressful as well haha. good to shoot with people that you can rely on.
